Bradenton Boat Club is located in historic Cortez Village. It offers genuine and historic charm as one the last remaining fishing villages in Florida. Hugging the mainland and shore of Sarasota Bay, just a bridge away from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, is a small, timeless community that truly embraces it’s maritime heritage. No high-rises here, just little cottages, homes, and businesses lining narrow neighborhood streets. Locals proudly build and refurbish boats in their front yards where towering rows of crab traps are stacked and ready for the next fishing trip. Cortez is famous for its fishing community with its Annual Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival bringing in an attendance of 20,000 to the little 10 block community! Just add great live music, nautical arts and crafts, children’s activities, environmental exhibits, more seafood than imaginable and, of course, beer, and you’ve got a party you won’t want to miss.
Anna Maria Island
Just a short drive to Anna Maria Island is a quaint Barrier Island nestled in the Gulf of Mexico. Beautiful sparkling waters and white sugar sandy beaches are the main attraction here. It is a place where “old-school” Florida charm can still be found; flip flops are a way of life and the speed limit never exceeds over 35 mph. High rise condos and fast food restaurants are pleasantly absent from our pristine “get away from it all” island. Anna Maria’s accommodations and restaurants offer something for everyone. from quaint cottages by the sea to deluxe suites, from million-dollar villas to rustic cottages to own, one visit to Anna Maria Island and you will be calling it, “My island in the sun”.
